Flames Consume Vacant Commercial Building in Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA, Oct. 18 (KNN) — Firefighters battled a blaze consuming a vacant commercial building early Wednesday morning.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a structure fire shortly before 6:30 a.m. located on the 43000 block of North 17th Street in the city of Lancaster.

First units arrived and found a vacant, boarded-up building on fire. The commercial building has been closed for more than a year.

Firefighters searched the first and second floors of the building, but no one was found. Per information gathered at the scene, there were 16 units fully engulfed in flames with active smoke.

The fire was seen as far as a mile away from the location.

There is no additional information at this time.
