Police Search for Armed Suspect Following Pursuit Crash in Downtown Los Angeles

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (KNN) — A police pursuit terminated in a traffic collision involving an armed suspect and another vehicle, along with a search for the suspect in Downtown Los Angeles early Tuesday morning.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division patrol units were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle when the suspect collided into another vehicle shortly after 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of of 8th Street and Grand Avenue.

The suspect fled into a nearby parking structure armed with a rifle, per officers at the scene.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported a female to a local hospital with unknown injuries. She was possibly the driver of the vehicle impacted by the suspect.

A male was observed being detained at the scene, however, his connection to the pursuit is unknown. The LAPD did not have any information regarding that individual at this time.

The LAPD had set up a perimeter in the immediate vicinity while they searched for the outstanding armed suspect. In a call to LAPD Media Relations, Key News Network was told the suspect got away.
