Arson Suspect in Custody for Allegedly Setting Fire to Koreatown Apartment Complex

KOREATOWN, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12 (KNN) — An arson suspect is in custody for allegedly setting fire to an apartment complex in Koreatown early Tuesday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Division patrol units responded to a call shortly after 3:30 a.m. regarding a structure fire with a suspected arsonist with multiple gas cans in the 3700 block of West 1st Street.

The suspect was taken into custody by LAPD officers at the scene and positively identified by witnesses.

Firefighters achieved knockdown of the fire in approximately 30 minutes.
