BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Dec. 17 (KNN) — A stolen vehicle suspect was apprehended after a pursuit around 7:45 a.m. Friday in heavy morning traffic in the city of Bakersfield.

The Bakersfield Police Department was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle that failed to yield, leading officers in a high-speed chase of speeds up to 70 mph in heavy traffic in the area of Ming and Ash Road.
Air support assisted in the pursuit and led officers to the suspect who ditched the vehicle in a dirt field near Kern Canyon Road.
The suspect was taken into custody.
