The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Los Angeles officers responded to an initial report of vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision shortly after 1 a.m. in front of a location on the 1900 block South Butler Avenue.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found the victim deceased in the street.

According to Officer Madison with the LAPD’s Media Relations Division, it was determined a driver of a vehicle collided with a vacant parked vehicle. It is unclear if the driver had exited the vehicle and was then found deceased on the street, or if they were removed from the vehicle to allow paramedics access to the patient.

At this time, the incident is not considered to be a hit-and-run collision.

LAPD’s West Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
