2 Killed, Multiple Injured in Violent 3-Vehicle Traffic Collision in Canoga Park

CANOGA PARK, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (KNN) — A violent traffic collision in Canoga Park overnight left two people dead and multiple others injured.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to the 7600 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard around 12:45 a.m. Sunday for a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles with patients trapped.

Arriving firefighters found three vehicles that had collided with a total of six injured adult patients at the scene. Two of the patients, a man and a woman, were declared deceased and still trapped in the wreckage, according to the LAFD.

Two patients in critical condition were transported by LAFD paramedics to a regional trauma center and two additional patients with minor injuries declined offered ambulance transportation, reported the LAFD.

Closure of one or more lanes at or near the intersection of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Saticoy Street continued until the Los Angeles Police Department and medical examiner completed their operations.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and consider alternate routes.

The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
