Major Multi-Vehicle Crash in Pomona Leaves 1 Driver Dead, 2 Others Injured

POMONA, Calif., Jan. 13 (KNN) — Three drivers were injured, one fatally, in a three-vehicle major traffic collision in the city of Pomona Friday evening.

Pomona police officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a multi-vehicle traffic collision at 7:34 p.m. with at least one party reported trapped at East Alvarado Street and North Garey Avenue.

One vehicle had landed in the front yard of a residence in the 100 block of East Alvarado Street where arriving firefighters cut the roof off the vehicle to free the driver. The residence had visible fence and lawn damage, but the home appeared to be untouched.

Officers and fire department personnel treated the parties on scene who were moderately to severely injured and were transported to a nearby hospital where one of the involved drivers, a male adult Hispanic, succumbed to his injuries, reported the Pomona PD. His identification is pending notification to family.
