Sinkhole Appears as Broken Water Main Floods Street in Westwood

WESTWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 16 (KNN) — A broken water main caused a sinkhole to appear in a street in Westwood Monday night.

Street flooding in the 10400 block of West Wilkins Avenue was reported around 10:25 p.m. to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

When crews arrived on scene, they located a large water main break with a sinkhole starting to form in the middle of the street.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was notified and responded to the scene. The water was shut off in just a few minutes.
