Los Angeles Police Department officers and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a solo-vehicle traffic collision on the 15000 block of Sherman Way around 12:41 a.m. Sunday. The crash involved a Toyota Tundra pickup truck traveling eastbound that struck a power pole with the truck facing the wrong way.

A resident off camera mentioned he went outside after hearing the loud impact and asked the driver if he was fine. He saw the driver of the truck attempt to flee from the scene, but the truck was not able to engage in drive and the rear tires kept spinning. The resident said he then called 911 to report the incident.

LAPD officers arrested the driver for suspected DUI and the LAFD secured the scene with yellow tape due to the compromised power pole leaning toward traffic lanes as a result of the collision.

There were no injuries reported.
