Possible Active Shooter Leaves 1 Victim Injured in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Calif., Jan. 28 (KNN) — A person was found struck by gunfire at a Lancaster intersection Sunday afternoon as deputies were responding to a reported male shooter in the area.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department responded to the corner of Avenue J and 85th Street West around 2:34 p.m. for reports of a male shooting at people.

While en route, Lancaster deputies discovered a victim at the corner of Avenue J and 70th Street West suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the patient to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the shooting.

Lancaster deputies remained on scene and in the surrounding areas to search for the suspect. As of 3:31p.m. there was no additional information to add.

The shooting is under investigation.
