22-Year-Old Male Fatally Shot in Pico Rivera

PICO RIVERA, Calif., Jan. 29 (KNN) — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man in the city of Pico Rivera Sunday night.

Sheriff’s deputies and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a gunshot victim just after 10 p.m. in the 5700 block of Esperanza Avenue and Whittier Boulevard.

According to the uncle of the victim, his nephew was only 22 years old and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s department had deputies respond from other agencies to assist with crowd control due to multiple family members arriving at the scene.

The scene had calmed down, but some family members remained. LASD homicide detectives had arrived at the scene.

It is unknown at this time if any suspects are in custody, or if any suspects are still outstanding.
