Truck Flees After Shearing Water Pipe; Underground Parking Garage Flooded in Los Feliz

LOS FELIZ, LOS ANGELES, Feb. 20 (KNN) — A truck was apparently the cause of a large sheared water pipe that flooded parts of an underground parking garage of a shopping complex early Tuesday morning in Los Feliz.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a shopping complex in the 5400 block of West Hollywood Boulevard for reports of flooding shortly after 2 a.m.

When crews arrived on scene, they located a large overhead broken water pipe in the underground parking garage to the complex. Part of the garage was flooded under several inches of water and rising.

A witness stated off-camera that a U-Haul truck sheared the pipe due to low clearance before fleeing the scene.

LAFD personnel were observed working to shut off the water.
