Solo Vehicle Crash Shears Hydrant in Bel Air

BEL AIR, LOS ANGELES, Mar. 7 (KNN) — A driver of a compact SUV lost control and sheared a fire hydrant Wednesday night around 10:42 p.m. in the 11000 block West Sunset Boulevard in Bel Air.

The driver of the vehicle was evaluated by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics and released at the scene without injury.

Sunset Boulevard was closed while the LAFD worked to shut down the gushing hydrant. The L.A. Department of Water and Power was requested to the scene but had not yet arrived at the time of this report.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
