ONTARIO, Calif., Mar. 9 (KNN) — A traffic collision involving two vehicles on the 15 Freeway early Saturday morning left one person dead at the scene.
California Highway Patrol officers with the Rancho Cucamonga Station and Riverside Fire Department personnel responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision just before 3 a.m. with one vehicle overturned on the southbound 15 Freeway, just south of Jurupa Street in the city of Ontario.
Once firefighters arrived on scene, they located two people trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Firefighters and paramedics pronounced one person dead.
It is unknown at this time how many other victims were transported to the hospital from the scene. The CHP had all southbound lanes stopped on the 15 Freeway.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
