Los Angeles News Anchor’s Stolen Tesla Runs Out of Juice During Pursuit

EAST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Mar. 29 (KNN) — A Los Angeles news anchor’s stolen Tesla ran out of power during a pursuit in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles late Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division patrol units were engaged in a pursuit with a stolen Tesla Model S in the area of Western Avenue and 8th Street shortly after 11:30 p.m.

The pursuit continued into the Hollywood area when officers were informed by the owner of the Tesla that the battery of the vehicle was down to 1%.

The suspect entered the southbound 101 Freeway and exited at Melrose Avenue when the Tesla’s battery died in the 4600 block of Melrose, just south of Normandie Avenue.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

The owner of the vehicle was later identified as anchor/reporter Susan Hirasuna of KTTV FOX11 Los Angeles.
