LINCOLN HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 10 (KNN) — One of three suspects involved in an alleged robbery and assault of a woman Tuesday night, was taken into custody after barricading inside a building in Lincoln Heights.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s SWAT team was called to a perimeter near the intersection of North Main Street and Griffin Avenue. LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division patrol units responded initially to the area for reports of a woman who was robbed and pistol whipped by three suspects around 9:40 p.m..
While officers were taking the armed robbery report, the victim observed the suspects driving by their location. Officers followed the suspects to the above mentioned area, where one of the three suspects barricaded inside a two-story building.
After an hours-long standoff, the suspect’s girlfriend managed to convince him to exit the building. He was taken into custody at approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The extent of the injuries to the victim, and the items taken are unknown at this time.
