Driver Dies at Hospital After Crashing Vehicle Into Tree in Stevenson Ranch

STEVENSON RANCH, Calif., Apr. 12 (KNN) — A single vehicle slammed into a tree early Friday morning leaving the driver fatally injured and passenger hospitalized.

The reported crash occurred around 12:42 a.m. at Constitution Avenue and The Old Road in the unincorporated community of Stevenson Ranch.

Responding Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel and California Highway Patrol officers arrived at the location and found one party trapped inside a wrecked vehicle after crashing into a tree. The passenger was suffering from minor injuries.

Los Angeles County firefighters successfully removed the patient from the vehicle, but were seen performing CPR before transport to a local hospital. At 1:20 a.m., CHP reported that the patient was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Tire skid marks were observed for about 200 feet at the location of the collision. It is unknown at this time if any other vehicles were involved in the incident.

CHP is investigating the fatal crash.
