SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 15 (KNN) — Four occupants in a minivan were hospitalized after a traffic collision on the 5 Freeway in the area of Sylmar.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash into the center divider of the northbound 5 Freeway, south of the Antelope Valley Freeway, around 7:52 p.m. Sunday.
Preliminary information from the LAFD indicated that one adult and three children were seriously injured, one of whom was briefly trapped in the wreckage. Officers with the California Highway Patrol’s Newhall Office were also at the scene and are investigating the collision.
According to the CHP on Monday, one adult – possibly male – sustained moderate injuries in the collision and the three children sustained moderate to major injuries. Their ages and current conditions are unknown at this time.
No additional details were available from the CHP.
