SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Apr. 18 (KNN) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in Santa Clarita’s Canyon Country neighborhood Wednesday evening.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station was notified of shots fired in the area of Jake’s Way and Sandy Drive around 7:47 p.m. The reporting party stated she had heard about 10 gunshots and that bullets passed by her at the River Ranch Townhomes.
Upon arrival at the location and after speaking to a few neighbors, deputies confirmed shots were fired and multiple bullet casings were found.
One neighbor said the bullets sounded like a car backfiring. Additional deputies arrived and blocked both sides of the intersection while they investigated the scene.
It is unknown if there were any injuries. The LASD is investigating the incident.
There are currently no further details.
