15 Injured in Tram Crash at Universal Studios Hollywood

LOS ANGELES, Apr. 21 (KNN) — Multiple passengers were injured in a tram crash at Universal Studios Hollywood Saturday night.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol units and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a crash shortly before 9:30 p.m. involving a studio tour tram inside Universal Studios located in the 3900 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

Per the LACoFD, 15 patients were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash was due to possible mechanical error, according to the LASD.

The CHP will be handling the investigation into the incident.
