PORTER RANCH, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 29 (KNN) — One person was killed in a fiery early morning crash into a tree located in a Porter Ranch playground.
The Los Angeles Fire Department and officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Division both responded to a reported crash around 4:11 a.m. Monday, involving a vehicle on fire at Reseda and Sesnon boulevards.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a vehicle fully engulfed in flames into a tree on a playground.
After extinguishing the flames, the solo-occupant in the wrecked vehicle was found deceased.
The vehicle appears to have crashed at the dead end of Reseda Boulevard and continued up the hill through the playground and into a tree.
Speed may have been a factor.
The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is handling the investigation into the single-vehicle fatal crash.
