2-Acre Brush Fire Burns in Sepulveda Basin

SEPULVEDA BASIN, LOS ANGELES, May 6 (KNN) — A brush fire erupted late Sunday night in the Sepulveda Basin prompting a response from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At approximately 11:38 p.m., the LAFD responded to a brush fire in 15700 block of Burbank Boulevard.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a burning patch of brush around an acre in size, that had quickly spread to two acres. LAFD Air Operations made several passes in their helicopters to knock down the flames.

LAFD ground crews with hand tool were observed working to make sure there were no hotspots left to reignite the brush.

No injuries were reported and the fire was quickly contained.
