Shots Fired at Bar in Downtown Los Angeles Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Wounded

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, May 9 (KNN) — A shooting at the location of a bar in Downtown Los Angeles late Wednesday night, left one person dead and another wounded.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division patrol units responded to The Escondite bar in the 400 block of Boyd Street around 11:50 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located two shooting victims. It is unclear at this time if the shooting took place inside or outside the bar.

One of the victims was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics and the second one was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to the LAPD on Thursday, the hospitalized victim is in stable condition.

Several subjects were detained at the scene. However, no arrests were made, according to the LAPD. Two male suspects had fled the scene.

There are no further details at this time as detectives continue to investigate this incident.
