CHP Investigates 170 Freeway Shooting in North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, May 30 (KNN) — An apparent shooting occurred on the 170 Freeway late Tuesday night in the area of North Hollywood, prompting an investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers with the West Valley area office were dispatched around 9:30 p.m., May 28, after being advised that the Los Angeles Police Department had contacted a possible victim of a freeway shooting that had occurred on the 170 Freeway between Oxnard Street and Burbank Boulevard, according to the CHP.

The driver was able to pull over to a safe location. Arriving CHP officers made contact with the victim who stated that he was uninjured and his car was not damaged.

The victim provided CHP video from his Tesla’s cameras that showed a silver sedan pass his Tesla and it appeared the person in the car fired one shot at the Tesla, according to CHP’s news release of the incident. The silver sedan did not have a license plate and could not be further identified.

CHP West Valley personnel canvassed the area for potential surveillance video. The freeway was closed for approximately 30 minutes while multiple CHP officers searched for potential evidence.
