Fatal Car Crash Into Tow Truck Hauling Vehicle Involves Fire on 14 Freeway in Acton

ACTON, Calif., June 14 (KNN) — One person was killed in a fiery car crash into the back of a tow truck hauling a vehicle early Friday morning on the 14 Freeway in Acton.

California Highway Patrol officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the 14 Freeway and Escondido Canyon Road for reports of three cars on fire around 1:20 a.m.

When units arrived at the location, they found a car that had slammed into the back of a tow truck, causing it to go underneath the vehicle that was being towed.

One person was pulled from the burning car, but was pronounced deceased at the scene and another was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
