Hit-and-Run Collision in South Los Angeles Leaves Pedestrian Hospitalized

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, June 20 (KNN) — An injured pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision late Wednesday night in the Vermont Square neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision around 11:14 p.m. at the intersection of West Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Budlong Avenue.

When first responders arrived on scene, they located the pedestrian down in the roadway not breathing.

The victim was transported in unknown condition to a local hospital by the LAFD. The LAPD did not have an update on the victim as of Thursday afternoon.

The vehicle that left the scene was only described as a black truck, according to the LAPD.

LAPD South Traffic was holding the scene pending prognosis of the victim.
