Bicyclist Struck, Killed in Bakersfield Traffic Collision

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., June 25 (KNN) — A bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in the city of Bakersfield Tuesday evening.

Just after 6:30 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle versus bicyclist incident in the area of Allen Road and Stockdale Highway.

Medical aid arrived on scene and declared the individual dead. The collision appears to be an apparent hit-and-run, however, it has not been confirmed at this time.

Eastbound, northbound and southbound lanes were blocked during the investigation.
