BAKERSFIELD, Calif., June 25 (KNN) — A pedestrian was left fatally injured on a roadway after being struck by a driver who fled the scene early Tuesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision at approximately 2:47 a.m. in the area of Washington and Airport Drive in the city of Bakersfield.
Upon arrival, first responders pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
It appears the vehicle involved fled the area. There is currently no suspect description available. Authorities are investigating the incident.
