Juvenile Stabbed During Fight in Simi Valley; Detectives Search for Suspect

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., July 21 (KNN) — Detectives with the Simi Valley Police Department are searching for the suspect allegedly involved in a stabbing that left a juvenile wounded in a parking lot of a shopping center in Simi Valley late Friday night.

Simi Valley PD officers were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. to the Regal Plaza located on the 2700 block of Tapo Canyon Road after multiple calls were received regarding a large group of juveniles fighting in a parking lot, according to the police department.

Arriving officers located a male juvenile, initially reported to be 16 years old, suffering from a single stab wound.

The juvenile was transported to a local trauma center and is expected to make a full recovery, reported the Simi Valley PD.

“Detectives from the Simi Valley Police Department’s Detective Unit and members from the Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) responded and took over the investigation,” said the SVPD.

The suspect was still outstanding as of late Saturday night. However, there is no threat to the public at this time, according to investigators.

The incident may have occurred at a car meet that congregates in the shopping center on Friday nights.
