A burglary was reported around 2:45 a.m. at a pharmacy located in the 9700 block of Wilshire Boulevard, according the Beverly Hills Police Department in a news release.

The BHPD received a call from a witness who observed the crime in progress. In less than a minute, responding BHPD officers closed in on the burglary suspects, according to the BHPD.

As officers were arriving at the location, the suspects fled in a stolen Dodge Durango Hellcat. A pursuit was initiated, but the suspects managed to evade the responding officers. Aerial support was requested to locate and track the suspects.

The Los Angeles Police Department assisted the BHPD as suspects headed toward the downtown area of Los Angeles. Due to high speeds and reckless driving, the suspects continued to be tracked.

An LAPD air unit located the suspects on the eastbound 10 Freeway driving at a high rate of speed and without lights, according to the BHPD.

The suspects ultimately exited the freeway near LA Live leading to an LAPD pursuit tracking them to the 1700 block of East Imperial Highway in the Watts neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

Per information at scene, the suspect vehicle stopped and four suspects were seen fleeing the vehicle heading into the neighborhood north of Imperial Highway. Reportedly, they ran into a two-story yellow residential building just east of Wilmington.

Law enforcement set up a perimeter and established a command post nearby. BHPD stated in the news release that one suspect was taken into custody and the stolen vehicle was impounded for evidence.

Additional information from sources suggests that the vehicle used by the suspects was stolen a few days ago in a neighborhood of LAPD’s Topanga Division.

The BHPD said the exact loss at the pharmacy is still under investigation. The department also announced the arrest of Sergio Giobanni Estrada Ochoa, an 18-year-old from Los Angeles, who was booked for commercial burglary.

The BHPD urges anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Detective Bureau at (310) 285-2150.
