LAPD officers responded to the 10700 block of Burbank Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. for a burglary in progress at a business.

Upon arrival, officers found a white GMC SUV that had backed into a business, leaving the glass storefront smashed.

Responding LAPD officers called for backup to search for suspects potentially still inside the store. Upon further investigation at the scene, it did not appear the suspects had gained access to the business and fled the scene, according to a spokesperson for the LAPD.

The SUV was left abandoned at the scene. The LAPD had no suspect information available at this time.

In a separate call to LAPD’s Devonshire Division approximately two hours earlier, officers responded to a burglary at a smoke shop in Chatsworth where the suspects had backed a pickup truck into the store. That store was ransacked by multiple suspects.

In both incidents, the vehicles were left abandoned. However, another vehicle parked to the side in the parking lot of the Chatsworth burglary appeared to be the getaway vehicle and looks similar to the vehicle used in the attempted burglary of the North Hollywood business.

This attempted burglary, along with the burglary in Chatsworth are both currently under investigation by the LAPD. The detectives investigating these two incidents have not yet determined if the same suspects are involved in both burglaries.
