2 Rescued From ‘Sunken City’ in San Pedro, 1 Transported to Trauma Hospital

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 (KNN) — Two people at the bottom of a cliff were rescued by fire department personnel in San Pedro late Tuesday night.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the 600 block of West Shepard Street for reports of a victim over the cliff around 11:42 p.m.

When crews arrived at the scene, they located a male and a female at the base of a rocky area known as Sunken City, according to the LAFD.

The female was able to walk back up with the assistance of firefighters. She was evaluated and released at the scene.

The male was hoisted up by basket and transported via rescue ambulance to a local trauma hospital in unknown condition.
