Brush Fire Erupts on Highway 173 in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif., Sept. 29 (KNN) — Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, San Bernardino County firefighters responded to the backside of Silverwood Lake on Highway 173 for a fast-moving brush fire in Hesperia.

The “Silver Fire” was reported at one acre and quickly grew to over five acres. Per air attack, the fire was making a run toward homes at a dangerous speed. However, fire crews quickly gained control of the blaze, and forward progress was stopped.

By late afternoon, the fire was reported to be fully contained.
