WEST LOS ANGELES, Oct. 22 (KNN) — Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to an apartment building in the 11000 block of West Santa Monica Boulevard for reports of flooding early Tuesday.
When crews arrived at the scene shortly before 2 a.m., they found major flooding on the second and third floors of the building.
Firefighters determined that an “overstuffed toilet” caused the flooding, according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesperson for the LAFD.
Humphrey also told KNN that the LAFD notified the Los Angeles Police Department of a tenant dispute.
According to the LAFD, approximately 19 occupants were impacted by the flooding. It’s unclear how many took advantage of the Red Cross’s response to help.
The building was reported to house homeless individuals.
