The incident unfolded shortly before 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wiley Canyon Road and Tournament Road when a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputy requested help for a hit-and-run.

The driver of the possibly stolen water truck fled the scene by jumping into the backyard of a residence on Avenida Crescenta in the Old Orchard housing tract before disappearing into darkness.

Several sheriff’s units responded to the location as medical personnel from Los Angeles County Fire Station 124 and the American Medical Response worked to treat injured parties at the scene.

The suspect remains outstanding at this time. About 15 minutes before the crash, the water truck was reported stolen from a Ford dealership on Creekside Road.
