LANCASTER, Calif., Nov. 12 (KNN) — A postal worker was struck by a vehicle while in a Lancaster intersection late Tuesday afternoon, prompting a call to authorities.
Paramedics and firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, along with sheriff’s deputies, responded to a 3:20 p.m. call for a person down at the Genoa Avenue and West Newgrove Street intersection in Lancaster.
Upon arrival, paramedics and firefighters located a postal worker who had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the street within the crosswalk.
Bystanders from the neighborhood rendered aid while awaiting the arrival of fire department personnel. Paramedics transported the postal worker to a local area hospital with unknown injuries.
Deputies detained the driver of a green pickup truck at the scene as they investigated the incident.
It is unknown if alcohol or speeding was a factor in the collision.
