PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES, Nov. 22 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Fire Department and California Highway Patrol units responded to reports of a brush fire on the westbound 210 Freeway and Paxton Street shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday.
CHP was advised the fire may have been started by a vehicle’s occupant throwing fireworks out the window while driving. LAFD crews arrived to find two separate spot fires.
A private water tender driver stopped and began using the truck’s sprayers to extinguish one of the fires before the fire department arrived.
The driver stated off-camera that he was driving and saw the fire, so he decided to stop and help. LAFD crews successfully extinguished the remaining flames.
