Suspected Arsonist Lights Electric Truck on Fire in Studio City

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES, Nov. 24 (KNN) — An arsonist appears to have set fire to a parked electric vehicle in Studio City early Sunday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the 12400 block of Laurel Terrace Drive around 1:41 a.m.

A passerby noticed the flames and called 911. Upon the arrival of LAFD crews, an electric truck, possibly a Rivian, was found fully involved in flames, exposing another vehicle and garage. Firefighters quickly doused the fire.

The vehicle owner spoke off-camera, stating that he had lost many personal items inside the vehicle. One item he was upset about was baby pictures of a child.

The owner showed surveillance footage of someone lighting the vehicle on fire and staying at the scene for a moment before leaving.
