NORWALK, Calif., Nov. 26 (KNN) — Emergency crews responded late Monday night after a vehicle reportedly went off the freeway and landed in a riverbed near the westbound 105 Freeway from the 605 Freeway interchange.
Initial reports at 11:00 p.m. indicated that the vehicle had gone over the freeway barrier and into the riverbed. The California Highway Patrol and Downey Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
Reports indicate a male occupant was trapped inside the vehicle, prompting first responders to coordinate access via the east side of the riverbed from Imperial Highway. Emergency crews worked to free the man.
CHP reported damage to about 30 feet of guardrail along the freeway, creating an immediate hazard for other motorists.
Crews worked to assess the situation and clear the scene.
