MISSION HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2 (KNN) — A hit-and-run driver caused chaos on the 11300 block of North Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Mission Hills after crashing into a residential wall and landing in a backyard around 12:42 a.m. Monday.
Alarmed by the loud crash, neighbors rushed to help but found the car abandoned. Inside, they discovered a frightened Chihuahua, left behind by the driver who had fled on foot.
The concerned neighbors comforted the small dog until LAPD officers arrived. Police took custody of the animal, which was later transferred to an animal shelter in the area.
The LAPD Valley Traffic Division is investigating the collision, but no suspect has been identified or apprehended at this time.
