HESPERIA, Calif., Dec. 8 (KNN) — Burglary suspects attempted to gain entry to a smoke shop in Hesperia early Sunday morning by backing a vehicle into the business before fleeing the scene.
At approximately 4:15 a.m., subjects in two separate vehicles arrived at the Puff N Pass Smoke Shop located on the 13300 block of Ranchero Road in the city of Hesperia.
One of the vehicles, a Kia Optima, was backed into the front doors, shattering the entrance and allowing access to the business.
The Kia Optima used to force entry was left at the scene by the suspects, as “it appears the vehicle became disabled, and the vehicle was left behind while both drivers fled in the second vehicle,” said a sheriff’s spokesperson.
It has not been confirmed if the Kia at the scene was stolen or if any merchandise or currency was stolen from the shop.
The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
