High Winds Overturn Semi-Truck on Freeway Transition Road in Ontario

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Rancho Cucamonga station responded to the incident, which occurred just after midnight. Officials confirmed the semi-truck’s trailer was empty, and the driver was not injured.

A SigAlert was issued for the transition road, with traffic diverted to the southbound 15 Freeway. Crews worked to clear the overturned trailer, and Caltrans was called to assist with a hard closure of the area. Additional CHP units were also dispatched to manage traffic flow.

By 1:49 a.m., the traffic break had been lifted, though the cleanup and investigation into the incident were ongoing. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes as strong winds continued to pose risks on roadways.
