Vigil Held for Victim of New Year’s Day Fatal Crash in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Jan. 2 (KNN) — A vigil was held Thursday evening at the site of a fatal crash that occurred on New Year’s Day near the intersection of Ming Avenue and Westholme Boulevard.

The crash involved a Hyundai sedan traveling westbound on Ming Avenue that veered off the road and struck a light pole at the intersection. The collision resulted in the death of one man, while three other occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries.

The name of the deceased individual has not been released.

Police say alcohol was suspected to be a reason for the crash.
