Apple Valley Traffic Collision Involves Rollover With Injury, Deputy’s Vehicle Damaged

Apple Valley, Calif., Jan. 4 (KNN) — A two-vehicle traffic collision in Apple Valley Saturday evening involved a deputy’s vehicle and a sedan that rolled over as a result of the crash, injuring the driver.

At approximately 4:17 p.m., a traffic collision involving a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputy was reported on Bear Valley Road, east of Joshua Road, in the town of Apple Valley.

Rescue personnel with the Apple Valley Fire Protection District and American Medical Response were dispatched to the scene. They located a gray KIA K5 with significant damage in the open desert, along with a deputy’s undercover vehicle with rear-end damage nearby.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol were requested to the scene to handle the investigation.

According to CHP Logs, the gray KIA K5 rolled over multiple times, injuring the occupant, who was transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance. The extent of their injuries is unknown. Additionally, the deputy involved in the collision was seen walking around after the crash.

The California Highway Patrol’s Victorville Area Office is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
