LOS FELIZ, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (KNN) – A sedan slammed into an apartment building shortly after 1:30 a.m., leaving one man dead and a child injured who was transported to a local hospital.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a vehicle into a building in the 1800 block of North Western Avenue in Los Feliz.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they located a sedan that had crashed into a two-story apartment building with a total of three patients.
According to the LAFD, two patients were trapped under the vehicle inside an apartment unit and required extrication; a male, approximately 50 years old, was determined deceased at the scene, and a 9-year-old male in serious condition.
The child and the 34-year-old female driver, who suffered minor injuries, were both transported to a local hospital.
LAPD Spokesperson Margaret Stewart reported a total of seven displaced occupants. The Red Cross and the Mayor’s Crisis Response Team were notified to provide assistance.
The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety will determine whether the building is safe for occupation, according to Stewart.
