Vintage Volkswagen Van in Malibu Miraculously Survives Palisades Fire

MALIBU, Calif., Jan. 16 (KNN) – A 1977 Volkswagen van survived the Palisades Fire, which destroyed nearby homes and vehicles.

The van, parked in the area before the fire broke out on Jan. 5, was untouched by the flames. A photo of the van, taken by an Associated Press photographer, went viral on television and online, drawing widespread attention.

The van appeared to have soot on its windows and was parked on a hill near the Getty Villa.
