LEIMERT PARK, LOS ANGELES, Calif., Jan. 31 (KNN) — A homicide investigation is underway after police officers found a victim fatally shot in Leimert Park.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest units responded to a call on the 3400 block of South 9th Avenue around 1 a.m. Friday.
When officers arrived, they found a victim not conscious and not breathing with a gunshot wound to the head, according to initial information from the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. An LAPD spokesperson told Key News Network that the victim was a 20-year-old male.
Officers canvassed the area and the local hospitals for possible other patients, but according to the LAPD, there were no other victims.
The LAPD said that no suspect description is available.
