Firefighters Battle Residential Fire in East Los Angeles

EAST LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10 (KNN) — Los Angeles County and Monterey Park Fire Departments responded to reports of a structure fire in the 3200 block of City Terrace Drive at 1:22 a.m.

When crews arrived at the scene, they located heavy smoke and fire coming from a second-story room of a residence.

Smoke poured out of nearby windows, and flames were observed escaping from an attic vent as the fire spread. It is unclear if the home was occupied when the fire erupted.

Firefighters were still battling the flames shortly before 2 a.m. It is unknown when crews achieved knockdown.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
