SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (KNN) — A pedestrian was severely injured when struck by a vehicle in Sherman Oaks Tuesday night.

The vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m. in the 14700 block of West Ventura Boulevard. Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital with severe injuries, according to an LAPD spokesperson.
LAPD officers requested that a portion of Ventura Boulevard be closed while investigating the incident. The LAPD’s Valley Traffic officers were observed taking measurements at the scene.
The vehicle’s driver remained on the scene and appeared to cooperate with authorities.
Key News Network contacted an LAPD spokesperson, who did not have an update on the pedestrian’s condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
