SHADOW HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Mar. 23 (KNN) — A vehicle slammed into a parked semi-truck, leaving the driver trapped and fatally injured in the Shadow Hills neighborhood.

Los Angeles Police Department officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a reported traffic collision shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 7200 block of West Foothill Boulevard, where one person was trapped inside a vehicle.
Upon their arrival, firefighters discovered that a driver had crashed into the back of a parked semi-truck.
LAFD requested a physical rescue response, and additional resources arrived on the scene. They determined that the occupant of the Audi sedan was beyond medical help.
As a result, LAPD traffic units were called in to conduct a fatality investigation.
LAFD utilized heavy rescue equipment to lift the trailer off the mangled sedan. The LAPD Valley Traffic Division will handle the ongoing investigation.
Foothill Boulevard was closed between Hillhaven Avenue and Pinewood Avenue due to the incident.
